Author Peter Bronson will be discussing his book “The Man Who Saved Cincinnati” on Wednesday, July 17 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at the Mayerson JCC.

Bronson’s new book examines the life of Lew Wallace, a Union general in the American Civil War. Wallace is well known for his heroics during the Civil War period, but he also ordered the arrest of the famous outlaw Billy the Kid and helped investigate the conspirators behind President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination.

He is described as “the man who saved Cincinnati” as he helped fortify the city and turn back a Confederate attack during the Civil War.

Peter Bronson, a resident of Milford, OH, has worked as a reporter at the Cincinnati Enquirer as well as other newspapers around the country. According to the website of Bronson’s publishing company, Chilidog Press, Bronson has also won “Best Editorial Page in Ohio” four years in a row.

Bronson will be discussing his book and will have signed copies for sale at the lecture on July 17. Tickets and registration are available on the Mayerson JCC website
