Jewish Cemeteries of Greater Cincinnati are very pleased to announce that Henry Fenichel, JCGC Board Trustee Emeritus, and his wife Diana have been honored with the Voices of Giving Award from the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council.

With a full contingent of their closest friends around them June 11 at the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, Henry and Diana shared the story of their early lives, and of giving back to the charitable efforts that sustained their families as recent immigrants.  Henry was a child survivor of the Holocaust and tells his story often via the Nancy and David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center, especially since his retirement from 35-plus years as a Professor of Physics at University of Cincinnati.

Jewish Cemeteries board service led Henry to play a key role in creating grave markers to honor survivors in Cincinnati’s Jewish cemeteries.  Henry gave years of service to Jewish Cemeteries, and before that he served as Cemetery liaison for Northern Hills Synagogue. He and Diana have placed a legacy gift to JCGC in their will, helping sustain the organization’s mission in perpetuity.
