Sharon Marla Wurster

Sharon Marla Wurster (née Slavney), age 65, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on May 8, 2024 at Morton Plant Hospital following an extended illness. On March 18, 1959 Sharon was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Betty Slavney and the late Martin Slavney. In July 1992, Sharon married the late Michael Wurster and together they shared 16 years of marriage. 

Survivors include her mother Betty of Clearwater, Florida, her brother Steve Slavney of Las Vegas, Nevada, her sister Bari Nagy (Mark), of Leesburg, Georgia, and nieces Samantha Patton (Bryan), Rachael Nagy, and Ciara Slavney. Sharon is also survived by her nephew, Doug Salway as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and colleagues.

Sharon was employed in the Pinellas County School System for 35 years as a Special Education Teacher and a Speech and Language Pathologist.

Sharon graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with her Bachelor’s Degree. She also earned her Master’s Degree from the University of South Florida with a degree in Speech and Language Pathology.

Sharon was a dedicated volunteer in the NICU at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was also actively involved in the Florida Renaissance Festival over the years. She enjoyed her time as a member of the St. Petersburg Doll Club and loved her cats, Tessa and Skylar.

Sharon is interred at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida.
