Rita Finer (Z”L)

Rita Finer passed peacefully on the 19th of October 2026 in Cincinnati, Ohio at the age of 92. She was born in Bayonne, New Jersey on November 14, 1933 and lived in Cincinnati since 1965.

Rita was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and community member. She was always ready to lend an ear, offer a hand, mend a metaphorical fence, or put her whole heart into singing an off-tune aria, prayer, or musical number.

She loved family, friends, Judaism, fashion, and traveling. Whether you were behind the counter, in the line at the post office, next to her on an airplane or driving a taxi in her beloved Big Apple, Rita was always ready for a chat.

Rita is survived by her daughter Carrie Seidman, daughter Jackie Kramer-Arden and husband Stuart Arden, step-daughter Lainee Finer, and step-son Greg Finer and wife Chris. She leaves a lasting legacy in her beloved grandchildren Ryan Unger, Aden Nepom and husband Eric, Jamie Clough and husband Mark, Eli Seidman-Deutsch, Sarah Seidman-Deutsch, and Daniel Kramer-Arden. Rita was overjoyed to have known her great grandchildren Cash Clough and Ryder Clough.

Rita took great solace in knowing she would, someday, join her late husband Marvin Finer, her first husband Martin Seidman, and her cherished son Jeffrey Seidman. She also joins her beloved parents Max and Bertha Yanover, sisters Anita Lassman and Fay Yanover, in-laws Hyman and Sarah Seidman, and step-daughter Lin Unger.

Rita loved all things beautiful, art, music, good food, and good company. She took great pride and pleasure from her career in fashion. She began her Cincinnati career as the secretary of the fashion department of Shillito’s, leaving there as the Fashion Director to move on to other roles in fashion and then as buyer and manager of Down Connection. Rita was a devoted member and former Regional President of Fashion Group International, a lifetime member of Hadassah and Adath Israel, and a member of the No-Name Club.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 21 at Price Hill Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Cedar Village for the loving care they provided to Mom. A particularly heartfelt thank you to angels-on-Earth, Ezra O’Reilly and Ebony Smith who always went above and beyond to not only care for, but cherish and honour her. Thank you also to Chaplain Miriam Karp whose friendship with Mom was a blessing and comfort to her and her family.
