By Jeffrey Catalano

Isaac M. Wise Temple invites the community to a three-part learning series, “Tuesdays with Torah | From Medieval to Modern: Jewish Life in Transition,” led by Courtney Anthony, the Director of Education at Wise.

Taking place on Tuesdays, April 21, April 28 and May 5, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., this informational series will examine Jewish life in Europe from the 14th to 17th centuries, which was a time of great upheaval and transformation as the medieval world gave way to the early modern era.

From the Black Death, the Inquisition and the Expulsion from Spain to the opportunities brought about by the printing press, the Reformation and global exploration, this edition of “Tuesdays with Torah” will explore how Jews have endured, adapted and preserved their culture over time and against great odds.
