The Theatre at the J will soon bring a beloved classic to life with its youth production of The Wizard of Oz, offering audiences a thrilling journey down the Yellow Brick Road.
This timeless story follows Dorothy and her loyal dog Toto as they travel through the magical Land of Oz in search of the Emerald City, hoping the mysterious Wizard can help them return home. Along the way, Dorothy encounters a colorful cast of characters, including good and wicked witches, Munchkins and the unforgettable trio of companions: a Scarecrow in search of a brain, a Tin Man longing for a heart and a Lion seeking courage.
Presented by the talented young performers of Theatre at the J’s “Everyone’s a Star” program, the production highlights themes of friendship, self-discovery and resilience. Through music, humor and heart, the show captures the enduring message that what we seek is often already within us.
This family-friendly production invites audiences of all ages to rediscover the magic, wonder, and life lessons of a story that has captivated generations.
Three performances of the Wizard of Oz are scheduled for the public, Wednesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 14 feature 6:30 shows, with a matinee on Sunday, May 17 at 2:00.
