Newsworthy or Not? JCRC Annual Meeting 2026

On Thursday, April 16, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) will be holding its annual meeting at Mayerson JCC. The 2026 meeting is open to the community and JCRC’s civic partners. The JCRC fights against antisemitism, promotes Israel advocacy, builds interfaith coalitions and advances local policies of concern to the Jewish community.

At this year’s meeting, the main topic of discussion will be news coverage in a post-October 7th world and how it has changed what the Jewish community of Greater Cincinnati sees, believes and feels.

JCRC’s “Newsworthy or Not” will address what what’s getting through in the news and what’s getting lost. National Jewish journalists from across the idealogical spectrum will be speaking at this event in a candid conversation about what it’s like to cover Jewish life in America right now.

Important subjects that will be covered at the “Newsworthy or Not” event include antisemitism, Israel news coverage, campus upheaval and how the online spaces are shaping what people know and what they miss. The journalists on hand for this event will talk about what they see, what they struggle to report and what matters most in their work. These are reporters who live inside their stories every day, and their insights will be fascinating.

“Newsworthy of Not” will also include a brief annual meeting business segment, which will recognize new JCRC board members. Check-in for the program will open at 6:00 p.m., and the event will officially begin at 6:30.
