(JNS) — One of the Israelis wounded during Hezbollah’s missile and drone attack on Arab al-Aramshe continues to fight for his life after undergoing surgery, Galilee Medical Center said on Thursday.
In total, 19 victims are undergoing treatment in the Nahariya hospital, including three in serious but stable condition.
“We performed five surgeries overnight on severe and medium injuries, and there is no fear for their lives,” said Dr. Zvi Sheleg, the hospital’s deputy director. “Most of the injuries are shrapnel wounds and blast injuries; several of the injured have head wounds.”
At least 14 Israel Defense Forces soldiers and four civilians were among those wounded on Wednesday, according to a Channel 12 report.
The Hezbollah assault involved a two-pronged attack. First, two anti-tank-guided missiles were fired at the Bedouin town’s community center. When rescue workers arrived, Hezbollah launched a suicide drone towards the building.
In a statement cited by Al-Akhbar, a Lebanese daily close to Hezbollah, the terrorist organization took responsibility for the attack, confirming it launched a combined strike with guided missiles and drones on what it said was a military position in Arab al-Aramshe.
Hezbollah said it attacked in response to Israeli airstrikes that killed several of its members in Southern Lebanon earlier this week.
Following Wednesday’s attack, the Israeli Air Force struck terrorist infrastructure in the Lebanese town of Ayta ash Shab. The army said several terror operatives were staying in the building when it was hit.
IAF fighter jets continued their attacks on Hezbollah targets overnight, the army said, with strikes reported in Khiam and Kfarkela, as well as in the area of Baalbek, northern Lebanon, some 60 miles from the Israeli border.
In response, Hezbollah terrorists fired several rocket barrages at the largely evacuated northern Galilee town of Metula. No damage or casualties were reported.
Tehran’s terrorist proxy in Lebanon has carried out near-daily attacks on Israel’s evacuated northern border region since joining the war in support of Hamas a day after the Oct. 7 invasion of the northwestern Negev.
On Tuesday afternoon, attack drones launched by Hezbollah lightly wounded three people near Moshav Beit Hillel in the Eastern Galilee.
No air-raid alarms were triggered during the attacks on Arab al-Aramshe and Beit Hillel, exacerbating fears that the terrorist group has found a way around the Jewish state’s aerial warning systems.
