Have you ever wanted a refresher course on all of Jewish history? Sure, you think, but I cannot spare a year for the task. Well, now you can do it in one night.
Members of the community will have the opportunity to explore thousands of years of Jewish history during a special Shavuot learning event hosted by Temple Sholom on Friday, May 22.
The evening will begin with a Shabbat service at 6:30 p.m. before transitioning into an interactive educational program titled “All of Jewish History in One Night.”
Designed as a fast-paced and engaging learning experience, the program will feature a series of short, 10-minute sessions led by members of Temple Sholom. Each presentation will highlight a different moment, era or theme in Jewish history, taking participants on a journey from ancient Jewish beginnings through modern times.
Organizers say the event is intended to offer an accessible and welcoming way for participants to connect with Jewish learning during the Shavuot holiday, a time traditionally associated with study and reflection. Attendees may participate in as many sessions as they wish throughout the evening.
The program aims to combine education, community and celebration while encouraging discussion and curiosity about the Jewish experience across generations.
So, do not take a year to renew your jewish history knowledge. Do it in one night at Temple Sholom.
