Mayerson JCC will be hosting a weekend-long lifeguard certification course from March 13 through the 15. By signing up and participating in “American Red Cross Lifeguard Training,” you will earn a lifeguard certificate from the American Red Cross.

To be eligible for this lifeguard training course, you must be at least 15 years old on or before the last session and you must attend each session to receive your certificate. In advance of the in-person sessions, you will need to complete some online course content and you must be able to pass a prerequisite two-part swimming skill evaluation in your first in-person sessions.

Participants will also be required to demonstrate a proficiency in all the skills they learn, be able to pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 80% and be able to pass the three final skill assessments.

Should you want to attend “American Red Cross Lifeguard Training,” there is a fee for admission and spots are limited. The first class is on Friday, March 13, and will last from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The next two classes will be on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15, both lasting from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
