On Sunday, October 12, from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m., the Wise Center will be hosting the third session in the “Israel’s Milestones and Their Meanings” series. Presented by Rabbi Zachary Goodman and based on material from the Shalom Institute, “Israel’s Milestones” is a 9-part series offering a thorough education in the history of Israel, primarily through studying pivotal events like the Balfour Declaration in 1917 and the Six-Day War in 1967.

The third session of “Israel’s Milestones” focuses on the Six-Day War, which both changed the map of the Middle East and the psyche of the Jewish world. This session promises to investigate the military, political and spiritual consequences of the war, which include the capture of East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza.

For those wanting to better understand what shapes Israeli identity and the Israel-Palestine conflict today, this session is a must. Also, for anyone fascinated by world history, this special event promises to be interesting and engaging.
