The community is invited to the next Rockdale Temple Bicentennial year program, “The Art and Artifacts of K.K. Bene Israel Rockdale Temple” on Sunday, April 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Rockdale Temple. Abby Schwartz, curatorial consultant of the Skirball Museum and Rockdale Temple board member, will give a tour of the congregation’s art and artifacts, both inside the building and on the grounds.
Schwartz culled the archives of Rockdale Temple and conducted original research to document and amplify the collection of art and artifacts that make up the rich tapestry of this historic congregation, now celebrating its 200th anniversary. She created a catalogue of Rockdale’s impressive collection that was highlighted during the congregation’s Bicentennial Weekend at the end of January.
