On Friday, October 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Mayerson JCC and the Jewish Federation will be co-hosting a special musical event and luncheon at the JCC. The lunch will be served at noon and the concert will begin at 12:30. There is a fee for admission.

The JCC-hosted recital will feature songs for voice, violin and piano from an album titled “Freylekh: A ‘joyful’ rediscovery of De Cormier’s Yiddish folksongs” that was just released. These songs are selections from the recently published “The Yiddish Folksong Project Anthology: The arrangements of Robert De Cormier,” which focuses on Robert De Cormier’s folksong arrangements. These arrangements had previously been kept under lock and key for 40 years!

The featured musicians at the event include Kimberly Lazzeri on vocals, William Herzog on violin and Christian Seal on piano, all of whom are professors at Northern Kentucky University School of the Arts. The special recital is open to both the members of the JCC and the 60 and Better Center.
