On Wednesday, December 3, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Valley temple will be hosting “The Z Word,” a special event in an ongoing series hosted and organized Temple Sholom and co-hosted by Adath Israel Congregation, Congregation Beth Adam, Rockdale Temple and Northern Hills Synagogue.
“The Z Word” is an ongoing series addressing the subject of Zionism and how it often plays an important and complicated role in the identities of many Jewish people across the world.
In each entry in the series, one of six Senior Rabbis (three from Reform synagogues, two from Conservative, and one from a Humanistic synagogue) will host a deep discussion about a unique topic, all of which relates to Zionism. The hope of “The Z Word” is that a rabbinic perspective will offer an interesting insight to a topic related to Zionism.
The topic of the “Z Word” event on December 3 will be “Building Bridges Out of Pain,” and Rabbi Lauren Werber of Congregation Beth Adam will be hosting it.
The last “Z Word” event was held on November 19 at Adath Israel with Rabbi Meredith Kahan, Senior Rabbi of Rockdale Temple, hosting it. The topic of her event was “Creative Voices from Israel (Music and Poetry).”
“The Z Word” is open to all ages and encourages anyone curious about Zionism to attend. Register online through jlive.
