On Wednesday, November 19, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Adath Israel will be hosting “The Z Word,” a special event in an ongoing series hosted and organized Temple Sholom and co-hosted by Adath Israel Congregation, Congregation Beth Adam, Rockdale Temple and Northern Hills Synagogue.
“The Z Word,” which has the subheading, “A Progressive Exploration of Zionism and Jewish Peoplehood,” is an ongoing series addressing the critical subject of Zionism, and how it plays an important and complicated role in the identities of many Jews across the world.
In each entry in the series, one of six Senior Rabbis specially chosen for “The Z Word” will host a deep discussion about a unique and engaging topic. On November 19, Rabbi Meredith Kahan, Senior Rabbi of Rockdale Temple, will be leading the event. The subject of her event will be “Creative Voices from Israel (Music and Poetry).”
In events past, like the one this past Wednesday, November 12 at Congregation Beth Adam, the topic was “Moral Injury and Loving Israel,” and was headed by Rabbi Ari Jun. The topic of “The Z Word” event on December 3 at Valley Temple will be “Building Bridges Out of Pain.”
“The Z Word” is open to all ages and encourages anyone curious about Zionism to attend.
