The Cincinnati Eruv Committee announces expansion of the community Eruv

After many years of planning and studying, and many months of raising funds, the eruv committee is expanding the current community eruv. If you know the current layout of the eruv — it is going to be going from its northern border of Ridge Road to the next northern border of Plainfield Road about one mile north of the current border. The eruv will then turn left at Plainfield Road and Galbraith Road and come back down Galbraith Road and meet Ridge Road on the west. This will now incorporate Rollman Estates and much along Montgomery Road into the eruv. It will also include French Park, which people can now carry into and out of on Shabbat. It will now be possible to have a picnic at French Park on Shabbat. Included is also Adath Israel Congregation, who have been asking to be included for many years along with many streets north of Adath Israel Congregation. Also included will be business along Montgomery Road such as Café Alma. “With the community moving north from Roselawn it was just time to move the eruv” stated Robert “Bob” Zimmerman, the current board chair. This could be great news for the eruv committee who have been sending out donation letters on a regular basis, now that they are including business that will benefit and the very nice homes in Rollman Estate that could lead to many additional and substantial donations for the eruv comittee. This looks like a win-win for the community, the committee and everyone that wants to carry on Shabbat.
