Stone Creek Dining Company offers a reliable and refined option for upscale dining in Montgomery, featuring a full array of quality steaks alongside a diverse menu designed to satisfy nearly every appetite. General Manager Don Arnold and Executive Chef Jeff Moore have created a clean, tailored dining space paired with a contemporary, family-friendly menu that includes several creative touches sure to catch your attention.
In addition to the main dining room, the restaurant boasts an elegant bar area complete with draft beer and televisions. During our recent visit, my wife and I were seated in the bar area, which strikes a comfortable balance between casual and classy — ideal for a quiet dinner for two. With the Olympics nearing their climactic finish, winter competition provided an entertaining backdrop. Though we weren’t seated directly at the bar, it was nice to glance up occasionally and keep pace with the action.

Fresh Bread
We began the evening with the Sesame Ahi Tuna appetizer, pairing it with a half bottle of Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial Champagne. It proved to be an excellent way to start the meal.
The tuna was fresh and expertly seasoned, served rare and accompanied by a flavorful soy dipping sauce. Resting over napa slaw and complemented by spicy-sweet mustard, horseradish cream, pickled ginger and wasabi, the dish delivered a full spectrum of flavors and textures. The crisp, bright champagne provided a classic counterpoint to the richness of the tuna.
As is customary at Stone Creek, warm bread with olive oil dipping sauce arrived at the table — simple, satisfying, and a welcome accompaniment.

Ahi Tuna
For our main course, we both chose the classic New York Strip. Each steak was properly charred, beautifully marked and cooked to perfection — flavorful, tender and exactly what one hopes for in an upscale restaurant offering.
To accompany the steaks, we selected a pleasant surprise from the wine list: a Bordeaux that did not carry the typical lofty price tag. While it is never difficult to find an expensive bottle from France’s most famous wine region, discovering one priced comparably to a mid-range West Coast selection is less common. Chevalier du Grand Loc proved to be well-balanced and structured, pairing seamlessly with our steaks. After a brief opportunity to open in the glass, the wine rounded out nicely and elevated the meal even further.

New York Strip
To conclude the evening, my wife opted for the Blueberry & Lemon White Chocolate Cheesecake. Light yet creamy, sweet yet tart, it delivered a decadent finish without feeling heavy — a dessert sure to satisfy anyone with a serious sweet tooth.
All in all, our weekend visit to Stone Creek Dining Company in Montgomery was thoroughly enjoyable. For those seeking a polished atmosphere, attentive service, and consistently well-prepared fare, Stone Creek remains a place where the last taste lingers long after it’s gone.
