
Samuel Liping Chen
Meryl Meisner and Hector Chen announce the birth of Samuel Liping Chen (Shmuel Lioz). His older sister and brother are Clarissa and Irving Chen. The family lives in Yuma, Arizona.
Samuel’s grandparents are David and Pamela Meisner of Cincinnati, Lin Chen and Sui Lin of Cincinnati and Medea Meng of New York.
Samuel is named for Meryl’s great uncles, Sam Shreeman and Samuel Sherman Alpert. His bris was on 10/12/25 with Rabbi Avraham Gavrielov of Phoenix, Arizona. Meryl’s father David was able to fly from Cincinnati to attend. The rest of Samuel’s fond family attended on Zoom.

Colbie Kaplan and Justin Flynn
Colbie Danielle Kaplan of Loveland, Ohio married Justin Paul Flynn of Milford, Ohio on October 25, 2025. Justin’s parents are Thomas and Janette Flynn. Colbie’s parents are Dean and Erika Kaplan.
Colbie has a bachelors’ degree of mortuary science from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Justin has a bachelors’ degree of technical and applied studies from the University of Cincinnati and a certificate from the Ohio Police Officer Training Academy. Justin works as a police officer and Colbie, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, works as a manager at Weil Kahn Funeral Home.
The couple met on a call when someone passed away and Justin was the police officer when Colbie came to pick up the person for the funeral home.
The wedding was at Carlo & Johnny’s by Jeff Ruby in Montgomery. They were married by Steven Pielage, a close friend and member of Wise Temple. Following a small ceremony, they had a dinner party with family and close friends. Bill Kahn recited kiddush and hamotzi before the meal.
The couple lives in Goshen, Ohio.
