Peter Bronson is returning to the J on August 13 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. to discuss his newest book, “Promised Land: How the Midwest Was Won.”

Bronson is a newsman in Michigan, Arizona and Ohio. He is an award-winning editor and columnist for the “Tucson Citizen” and “Cincinnati Enquirer.” After his successful career as a host and producer on weekly TV news shows, he became a publisher, editor, author and ghostwriter for Chilidog Press.

The book recounts harrowing tales of how early settlers transformed Kentucky and Ohio into the thriving territory that we know today while facing native tribes, natural hardships and serpent-worshipping secret societies.

Bronson cares deeply about the Cincinnati region, and “Promised Land” is his latest exploration of the tri-state area’s fascinating history.

The event is free and open to members of the JCC and/or 60 & Better Center.
