The Mayerson JCC 60 & Better Center will host the second annual Care Provider Forum on Wednesday, September 11, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Discussions at the forum will focus on Medicare. Attendees can learn about choosing the plan that is right for them, prescription drug coverage, long term care, supplemental insurance, power of attorney, living wills and other related topics.
Featured speakers include representatives from the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP). OSHIIP is a program provided through the Ohio Department of Insurance that helps Medicare recipients receive free health insurance information and one-on-one guidance. Navigating the world of Medicare, prescription drug plans and supplemental insurance can be extremely overwhelming, even to those who are familiar with the process. The 60 & Better Center’s Care Provider Forum will feature speakers from OSHIIP who will be able to answer questions about making the most of Medicare coverage.
Another featured speaker at the event will be Mary Day, Development and Communications Director for Pro Seniors. Pro Seniors is a Cincinnati based non profit organization that focuses on helping seniors maintain independence and increase quality of life. The organization offers legal seminars that educate caregivers on navigating the complex world of Medicaid and other topics. Organizers at Pro Seniors also offer fact sheets subjects related to elder law, wills and small estates, long term care, consumer protections for seniors, public benefits and other helpful topics related to senior life. Attendees are invited to bring any questions they have about these topics to the forum, and seniors, caregivers, and friends are encouraged to attend.
The event will be held at the Mayerson JCC. Registration information can be found on the JCC website.
