On May 9th, the Amberley Village police station began a multi-day goat chase upon receiving a call regarding three loose goats.
The owner of the goats had just purchased the goats a few hours prior and assumed they’d be secure in their backyard.
After jumping the fence, the 3 goats were found roaming “around the south end by the Temples,” Chief Wallace said in a statement.
For the next 3 hours, Amberley police were doing their best to corral the stubborn creatures.
After corralling them, they were returned to their owner on Farm Acres.
Unyielding, the goats immediately escaped again. Sometime after two of the three goats were captured, a local resident secured them in their backyard.
The third eluded its captors. It was finally spotted headed for Deer Park near Rollman and E. Galbraith. Someone snapped a photo of it on a local’s window sill but couldn’t secure it.
On the 14th or 15th of May, the third was found on the side of the road after likely having been struck by a car, says Chief Wallace.
Wallace asked one of his officers how his day had been with the goats. The officer responded, “It was ring around the rosie with goats.”
