Linda Heldman Greenberg, beloved mother, devoted wife, adored grandmother, cherished friend and pillar of her community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at her Hyde Park residence. She was 71. Born on November 6, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Linda was raised in Bond Hill and spent most of her adult life in Hyde Park, where she built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
Linda’s greatest joy and proudest role was that of a mother, wife, grandmother and homemaker. She raised her family with care and devotion, creating a home rooted in love and generosity. Linda was a graduate of Seven Hills (formerly Hillsdale) and University of Cincinnati. She also earned her master’s in mental health counseling from Wright State University and worked as a behavioral specialist at Jewish Hospital, counseling with empathy and insight.
A dedicated volunteer and philanthropist, Linda gave freely of her time and talents to the city she loved. In addition to her charitable work for the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati and Tender Mercies, she served on the boards of Playhouse in the Park, the Cincinnati Ballet and the Cincinnati Memorial Hall Society, championing the arts and community engagement.
Linda was a fashionista —confident and uniquely herself. Her eye for detail extended from her wardrobe to the spaces she made beautiful and welcoming for others. Even in her final months battling ALS, she was the embodiment of style and an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a loyal friend, adored and admired by the many whose lives she touched.
To her three grandchildren, she was “Gigi” — a role she embraced with pride and delight. Whether reading books and playing games, sharing a special treat or planning a sleepover, Linda’s presence in their lives was magical and loving. They were the light of her life, and she of theirs.
For nearly 48 years Linda was married to her soulmate Gary. It was a true love story — a union marked by affection, mutual respect, and enduring friendship.
Linda is survived by her husband, Gary Greenberg; her sons, Eric (Michelle) Greenberg and Ben (Julia) Greenberg; her treasured grandchildren, Ari, Sasha, and Goldie; her brother, Gary (Austine) Heldman; and her sister, Judy (Tommy) Oxman. Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped and the community she so generously served.
