Dear Editor,
FBI director declares, on page 6 in the Israelite’s 11/9/23 issue, that “the war in the Middle East has raised the threat of attack against Americans….” He added that the greatest threat in the US is “posed by lone actors.” Wrey appeared last week in front of a Senate Committee with Homeland Security chieftain, Alejandro Mayorkas.
Normally this one-two punch from such stalwart guardians would herald reassurance that our governmental Shomers were ever vigilant and always at the ready-just in case-to take action.
However, it is because of our loose policies on the borders that terrorists can (and have, according to border patrol) entered. I guess our leaders couldn’t protect us because they were too busy… uh…trying to protect us.
It’s a shame they were too intent on protecting us to read any of the national media that has reported, due to our leaky borders, that the risks of terrorists entering have become higher and higher, and even manifestly so.
I think that all these governmental chiefs-whose job it is to protect us from foreign insurgents who wish to do Americans harm-should be given pay raises for recognizing their total haplessness in securing us from these possible, and probably already present, foreign terrorists, that Director Wrey points to.
I believe that we citizen’s of America (those borne here and those who legally immigrated here) should take solace in the fact that our leaders have finally acknowledged that we are at risk from those who weren’t prevented from entering our country illegally in the first place.
It makes one beam and be extremely proud-this is still a country of hope and possibilities. Even our leaders can attain ineptitude, declare their failure at protecting Americans-and still be appointed the leaders of the US.
Is this a great country-or what!
