Dear Editor,
The Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, along with our public affairs arm, the Jewish Community Relations Council, wholeheartedly endorses the ceasefire resolution authored by Cincinnati City Council member Anna Albi.
This resolution’s wording unites rather than divides us. It reflects the Jewish community’s aspiration — shared by numerous Cincinnati residents — that considerate and steadfast negotiation will lead to peace for Israelis and Palestinians alike.
When we approached the Cincinnati City Council last month, over 175 members from our community, covering a wide spectrum from college students to octogenarians, made our message loud and clear: We want to see peace.
The negotiations in Cairo, together with Council member Albi’s ceasefire resolution, guide us toward our shared goal. The pursuit of a six-week ceasefire, the secure return of all hostages, and the provision of urgently needed aid are crucial steps. Furthermore, these actions symbolize our hope to mend relations between our Jewish and Muslim communities in Cincinnati, advancing us toward lasting peace that benefits all, including Israelis, Palestinians, and Cincinnatians alike.
Together, we stand for peace.
