Dear Editor,
I guess logorrhea — as expressed by Cincinnati Council members Jeffreys, Harris and Walsh — is still alive and well on Cincinnati City Council.
In an Israelite letter on February 22nd, the Council members wrote — inter alia — that “…the dispute is incredibly complicated and long lasting….”
I imagine the dispute is complicated because the blood spilled by Israelis (as Hamas attacked, mutilated and raped them) was all intermixed with the blood spilled by young Jews, female and males, who were attacked preemptively and purposefully by Hamas.
All that blood is confusing. Some, no doubt, was A or B or other types. Some was undoubtedly Hamas blood, which spilled as Israeli’s defended themselves against Hamas’ uninvited invasion.
But the attack by Hamas is considered “complicated” by the Council members. Why it should be considered so is…well, “complicated.”
Perhaps, the Council members confused the words “complicated” and “impolitic.” It seems that it is impolitic to mention the fact that this foray into Israel was indeed bloody and savage. Its analysis and the conclusion — of what is right and wrong — seems to be puzzling to the Council members.
To the young people who were murdered, it most likely isn’t complicated at all. To the children mutilated and burned (assuming they could still speak) it wasn’t complicated. To the women who were raped (and taken hostage) the sanguinary invasion of Israel wasn’t complicated either.
What is complicated to me is why the Council members even bothered to write and stand athwart their pusillanimous breach of ethics.
I suppose I could tell you why they did indeed write and then mail the letter — but, then, it’s “complicated.”
