The Cincinnati Women’s Philanthropy group will be hosting its October Helping on Chai event on Wednesday, October 9, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Crayons to Computers. The Helping on Chai group meets once a month to do charitable work and community outreach. This month, the group will volunteer at Crayons to Computers. Crayons to Computers is a nonprofit organization that seeks to provide classroom materials so that students in need can succeed in school. The organization was founded in 1997 and since then has contributed over 184 million dollars in free school supplies to schools all over Cincinnati. This removes the immense financial burden of classroom provision from teachers and allows for an even playing field for students of all income brackets.
The Helping on Chai group will sort packs filled with materials for teachers that use surplus items like paper, bottle caps and fabric. Those wishing to volunteer with the Helping on Chai program should register online to receive more information about the event.
