The Jewish Community Relations Council will host its annual meeting on April 2 this year, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mayerson JCC. This year’s program will feature a discussion about free speech, featuring a debate about “The Dialogue Dilemma.” The event will feature a panel discussion on what constitutes free speech and hate speech on college campuses.
The featured panelist is Amanda Berman, a civil rights attorney. Berman also founded and is the Executive Director of Zioness, a grassroots coalition of Jewish activists who work to include gender, social and economic equality as well as Zionism in social justice spaces.
Ronit Sherwin, Campus Support Director for Hillel International and Jake Powers, President of Bearcats for Israel at UC, will join Berman on the panel.
Registration for the event can be found on the Mayerson JCC website. Check in begins at 6:00 p.m. with programming beginning at 6:30 p.m.
