“Meet George Jetson; Jane his wife…” that unforgettable opening line from The Jetsons introduced us to a future filled with flying machines, smart devices, robots and artificial intelligence. What once felt like pure science fiction has now become part of our everyday lives.
Nearly seven decades after that beloved cartoon first aired, the world has caught up in remarkable ways. Drones soar overhead, smartwatches track our every step and AI (artificial intelligence) helps power everything from our phones to our homes. Technology is evolving faster than the speed of light, making it nearly impossible to keep up.
But now, thanks to the Chai Minded Meetup Club all “oldies but goodies who are young at heart” will have a chance to learn about some of the latest innovations at the “Drone Zone & AI Lunch Lab,” an engaging hands-on afternoon of socializing and futuristic fun on Wednesday, March 25th, 11:30 a.m. at The Summit of Blue Ash.
Participants will enjoy a buffet lunch while experiencing a fascinating, live drone demonstration and interactive discussion led by world-class drone expert Matt King, founder of one of America’s largest drone education companies, which trains children, corporations and law enforcement officials on unmanned aerial systems.
Then, they’ll get to roll up their sleeves and take part in an interactive AI learning lab led by Luana King, who will demonstrate how simple it is to apply the wonders of artificial intelligence with just a tap of the screen. Participants will break into teams to launch their own “AI Advertising Agency,” using AI tools to brainstorm, design and produce a catchy mock advertisement. Along the way, they’ll discover how creativity and technology can work hand in hand.
The excitement will build as teams compete to have their ad featured in a future issue of the American Israelite, turning a fun faux challenge into a chance for real-world bragging rights! No tech experience is necessary, just curiosity, creativity and a willingness to have fun.
“I’ve seen a lot of changes over the years, and while I’ve managed to keep up pretty well, technology is moving so fast these days it can feel overwhelming,” says Ron Richards, a member of the Chai Minded Meet Up Club Advisory Committee. “That’s why we’re so lucky to have Matt and Luana King to help break it down. They have a real knack for making complicated topics surprisingly simple, and actually fun!” he adds. “I’m sure everyone’s going to have a great time and walk away feeling more comfortable and inspired by how AI and today’s technology can actually make their everyday lives easier.”
Matt King is an Ohio-based entrepreneur, educator and founder of Drone Camp, a nationally recognized drone and aviation education company. Matt also helped build Butler Tech’s Aviation Pathway, which led to the development of a new $15 million hanger in Middletown, scheduled to open on March 15th of this year.
Luana King is a successful real estate agent who combines her strong financial background with smart, modern marketing. She uses tools like AI, video and digital outreach to help her reach her audience faster and more effectively.
The Drone Zone and AI Lunch Lab event is open to adults in the Jewish community who live independently. Non-Jewish partners and friends are always welcome. The cost of the event is $15/person and includes a delicious buffet lunch and dessert. It will take place in a private dining room at the Summit of Blue Ash, directly adjacent to Summit Park. Advance reservations are required and will be given on a first come, first served basis to the first 75 people to RSVP at The Chai Minded Meetup Club’s website.
The Chai Minded Meetup Club is a program that was started in 2024 by a group of people from the Jewish community who were looking for fun, out-of-the-box social opportunities for seniors who live independently and is a great option for anyone looking to have fun, meet friends and make some noise!
Whether they’re a member of a congregation, participate peripherally in community programs or none of the above, the Chai Minded Meetup Club is open to all “Oldies but Goodies” who are young at heart.
