On Wednesday, February 25, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Mayerson JCC will be hosting an informative workshop designed to provide people with the knowledge, tools and support they need to navigate the pain and uncertainty of the grieving process, for themselves and for those they love. At “Discussions with the Social Workers Grief 101: Caring For Yourself and Others,” participants will explore the emotional, physical and psychological toll of grief with social workers.
In addition to learning about the effects of grief on the mind and body, attendees of this workshop will learn how to support others who are grieving. Insights on how to empathize and connect with someone dealing with the grieving process will be provided.
Grief is a natural response to loss and can induce a wide range of emotions like sadness, anger and even confusion. Grief usually follows a significant event like the death of a loved one or a break-up, but it is also a deeply personal phenomenon and highly unpredictable. There is no single cause for it and no right way to experience it.
“Discussions with the Social Workers Grief 101: Caring For Yourself and Others” is open to anyone who would like to attend.
