Stone Creek Dining Company in Montgomery, Ohio
There’s something deeply comforting about a restaurant that understands both restraint and richness — knowing when to elevate a dish and when to let the ingredients speak for themselves. Stone Creek Dining Company in Montgomery achieves this balance beautifully, delivering a dining experience that feels polished but never pretentious.
Stone Creek also holds a special place in my heart for another reason: it’s where my fiancé and I had our very first date. We both ordered the salmon, and I remember quietly reminding myself to slow down because the food was so good I nearly forgot to be charming. That meal marked the beginning of something beautiful, and every time I return, I’m reminded of that night — the easy laughter, the shared experiences and the feeling that something meaningful was beginning.
Stone Creek’s menu offers something for everyone, including several options that accommodate kosher-style dining. Whether you’re avoiding pork, seeking vegetarian dishes or preferring fish entrées, it’s easy to navigate the menu without sacrificing flavor.
Our meal began with a trio of thoughtful appetizers. The Fried Green Tomatoes were a Southern classic reimagined — crisp and golden, layered with pimento cheese and a generous swirl of spicy sriracha aioli. A smoky-sweet bacon marmalade added depth, but the dish held its own even without it, allowing guests to enjoy it with or without the added element.
The Triple Dip was an instant favorite, featuring roasted garlic hummus, guacamole and a surprisingly delicious Brussels sprout au gratin. Served with grilled flatbread and crostini, it was a shareable plate that offered variety and creativity — especially that Brussels dip, which turned out to be the unexpected star.
For something fresh and vibrant, the Roasted Beet Salad delivered beautifully. Peppery arugula rests atop red beet purée and is accented with orange segments, a warm goat cheese fritter, and a tangy balsamic reduction. It’s a satisfying and well-balanced start for those who lean toward lighter or plant-forward fare.
Among the entrées, the Ribeye stood out — generously cut and seared to perfection, paired with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The Chicken Scallopini, while not kosher, was rich and flavorful, combining prosciutto, mushrooms, asparagus, bleu cheese and a silky sherry cream sauce. For those observing kosher dietary practices, the menu still offers plenty of alternatives.
One of the best examples is the Squash Wellington, a vegetarian entrée wrapped in flaky phyllo pastry and filled with butternut squash and mushroom duxelles. Roasted Brussels sprouts, a drizzle of sherry cream sauce and a swipe of tomato jam bring balance and brightness. The vegetables were surprisingly sweet yet meaty. It’s hearty, elegant and proof that meatless doesn’t mean boring.
And just when you think you can’t eat another bite, dessert arrives — and you’re glad you saved room. On our last visit, we ordered the Peanut Butter Pie. It was everything you hope dessert will be: rich, nostalgic and indulgent. A silky peanut butter filling rests in a chocolate cookie crust, topped with peanut butter cup crumbles, chocolate and caramel drizzle and a cloud of whipped cream. It’s a sweet ending that satisfies everyone at the table.
The service throughout our visit was professional and polite — present but never intrusive, with courses arriving at a comfortable pace. It’s the kind of thoughtful hospitality that makes the evening feel effortless.
On one visit, my fiancé and I and our friends ended up closing the place down. As we lingered over dessert, we watched the staff gather near the bar — servers, hosts and kitchen crew laughing and relaxing together after the shift. That small glimpse behind the scenes made a lasting impression. It told me that Stone Creek isn’t just a great place to dine — it’s clearly a great place to work. That warmth and camaraderie shows in the way they treat their guests.
