On Sunday, February 22, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Cincinnati Coalition for Israel (CCFI) will be hosting a unique Krav Maga self-defense event. This event, “CCFI Krav Maga Self Defense Workshop Demonstration Honoring Local IDF Soldiers,” is open to the community, and adults, college students, teenagers and young children accompanied by a parent are invited. A reservation is required to attend. The location of the event will be sent to you after you register.

In addition to being a self-defense seminar, the CCFI’s Krav Maga workshop wishes to honor local IDF soldiers. The IDF soldiers being honored stood on the front lines, and served with courage, sacrifice and dedication to the safety and future of the Jewish homeland. The CCFI appreciates all those currently serving in the IDF and those who have served in the past.

For those who don’t know, Krav Maga is a self-defense system that was developed in the 1930s by Imi Lichtenfeld. It was originally developed in Europe to help Jewish communities learn how to defend themselves against violent gangs and pogroms.

Krav Maga draws from various different fighting systems and styles like boxing and wrestling, in addition to utilizing real-world experience and emphasizing practical techniques. Lichtenfeld’s self-defense system values practical techniques that can be learned quickly and used under stress. Krav Maga eventually became the official self-defense system of the Israeli military and it spread worldwide as an effective method for civilian personal safety.

Should you come to this event and want to experience active training, it’s recommended that you wear comfortable clothing. A bottle of water will be provided. Whether you’re looking to feel safer, stronger or more prepared, this workshop will teach you high impact skills you’ll be able to use right away. Come and train and leave with more confidence!
