On Wednesday, September 3, from 7:00 p.m. to 8 p.m., the JCC 60 & Better Center will be hosting an online event focusing on two legends of comedy, Carl Reiner and Mel Brooks. The event will provide an overview of these two mens’ extraordinary careers and their famous partnership. Reiner and Brooks first teamed up on “Your Show of Shows” with Sid Caesar in the 1950s.

Reiner is perhaps best known for creating “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” a sitcom that ran in the early to mid-1960s. He also directed “The Jerk” with Steve Martin and is father to filmmaker Rob Reiner. He passed away in 2020 at the age of 98.

Brooks is widely known for his work in comedy and parody films, with some of his credits including “Young Frankenstein,” “Blazing Saddles,” and “Spaceballs.” He is currently 99 years old and working on a sequel to “Spaceballs.”

For fans of comedy and film, the event promises to be informative and entertaining.
