B’nai B’rith of Greater Cincinnati held a memorial service at the Robert S. Kraft memorial garden at Covedale Cemetery on Sunday, May 26 at 10:30 a.m.

The memorial service honors Jewish service members from the greater Cincinnati area who gave their lives for their country while serving in the United States armed forces. Family members of those honored as well as former service members participated in the program.

Harry S. Sudman, past president of B’nai B’rtih led the service.

Judge Heather S. Russel, Cincinnati City Council member Mark Jeffreys, and Major Erik Brown, 1-398 Operations Officer in the US Army Reserves, were distinguished speakers at the event. The American Legion Post 534 raised the flag and performed a three-volley salute. The war memorial in Covedale Cemetery was dedicated on October 14, 1945 by leaders of the Jewish community. In 1993, Judge Robert S. Kraft and Jack Landman began their service as co-chairs of the memorial until 1993. Harvey Chyette served as chairman until 2014. In 2015, Marc Sudman took over and serves as the chairman today.
