On Sunday, August 20, the Blue Ash Kroger on Hunt Rd. celebrated the recent expansion of their kosher food section by hosting a family-friendly Kroger Kosher Celebration. The in-store event featured free food samples and live entertainment for shoppers of all ages, including a circus performer and balloon artist. Lively music was provided by DJ Willie. “We’ve added more than 200 new products to our kosher department,” said Jenifer Moore, Corporate Affairs Manager of the Cincinnati-Dayton division of The Kroger Company. “This is in response to consumer feedback. Our customers let us know what they want to see in our store.”
Shoppers were able to taste an array of products, from Pizza Gouda, Beef Salami, La Panzanella or Naan provided by Murray’s Cheese, Dagim’s Naturally Golden Breaded Flounder, fresh apple pie, Dr. Brown’s Root Beer soda, and delicious samples from Marx Bagels. The expanded kosher section is well-stocked with coolers of frozen foods, refrigerated shelves holding fresh meat and seafood, including kosher sushi, and shelves of dry goods, all marked with blue kosher signage bearing the Star of David.
The event was well attended, and staff was on-hand to answer questions and make sure samples didn’t run out. Guests also had the opportunity to win baskets of groceries and treats by entering a store giveaway. The day’s event highlighted the desire for a variety of kosher products in the community. “We are part of this community,” Moore said. “We’re committed to listening to our customers and meeting their needs.”
