(JNS) — A sculpture of Anne Frank at Merwedeplein square — where she once lived with her family — in Amsterdam’s Rivierenbuurt neighborhood was vandalized for the second time in a month.

“Pro-Palestinian thugs put ‘Free Gaza’ on the statue of Anne Frank in Amsterdam. They have no shame. Their antisemitism has no boundaries,” wrote the Dutch politician Geert Wilders. “We should always stand up against their message of hate for unlike them, we adhere to freedom and respect.”

Klaas Meijer, a spokesman for the Netherlands Ministry of Defense, wrote that “Gaza protesters have desecrated the statue of Anne Frank in Amsterdam. Barbarians.”
