On Wednesday, April 29, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Mayerson JCC, in partnership with Braver Angels, invites its members to “Polarization’s Impact On Our World: What Can We Do?,” a special event at the JCC where participants will explore why we live in such divided times. As many of us are aware, we live in a deeply polarized country, and people with different political views practically seem to inhabit separate worlds.

In October of 2019, a Pew Research Study reveled that an overwhelming majority of respondents wanted less division and more cooperation in this country. However, nearly 7 years later, there seems to be more animosity and divisiveness than ever before.

Political disagreements are a healthy part of any democracy, but the new and alarming trend in how disagreements are addressed today is anything but that. The difference in our current political situation is that our divisions are restricting our ability to function effectively as a country and straining personal relationships.

Join “Polarization’s Impact On Our World” to review eleven key sources that are contributing to the high levels of polarization in America. In addition to learning about these sources, participants will discover the tools and skills they need to help them overcome this divisiveness and help bridge the divide.
