“Gav Israel,” a free, four-session fitness program for teens will start on Thursday, April 16. In this four-part program hosted by the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, Cincinnati teens will have the opportunity to experience what some high schoolers in Israel go through to prepare for their military service. “Gav Israel: Train Like You Mean It” will give local teens a taste of that very unique experience.
“Gav Israel,” which means “Israel’s Back” in Hebrew, is open to students grades 9 through 12. Led by Yarden, one of our Chaverim M’Israel (Friends From Israel), alongside a martial arts instructor, each session will combine strength training, aerobics, motivation, teamwork and mental toughness — all in a group environment where participating teens will push each other to show up and get stronger.
Each of the four sessions of the program will be dedicated to the memory of a fallen Israeli soldier. Teens are welcome to sign up for one session or all four. Either way, you’re invited to the program.
Sessions:
Thursday, April 16 | 6–7 p.m.
Thursday, April 23 | 6–7 p.m.
Thursday, May 7 | 6–7 p.m.
Thursday, May 14 | 6–7 p.m.
On Thursday, April 30, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., there will be an optional session of “Gav Israel.”
There’s no cost to this fitness program and every participant will receive a free t-shirt! The location of “Gav Israel: Train Like You Mean It” will be provided after registration.
