On Thursday, January 22, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Café Alma will be hosting a special dinner and song circle. The dinner will last from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and the song circle will last from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
At the dinner, kosher food will be available, as well alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The dinner is optional if you would like to attend “Rising Song Nigun Gathering with Rabbi Deborah Sacks Mintz.”
The song circle at this event will be a gathering for prayer and melody and will be led by Rabbi Deborah Sacks Mintz. Through the meditative power of nigun — prayerful and evocative melody — Sacks and those who attend this special event at Café Alma will raise their voices and lift their spirits together.
At “Rising Song Nigun Gathering with Rabbi Deborah Sacks Mintz,” participants will get to experience the power, depth and joy of communal song. Rabbi Sacks Mintz will guide this interactive Jewish music experience, which will be equal parts song-session, artistic exploration and communal spiritual practice.
Rabbi Sacks Mintz is a faculty member at Hadar, a Jewish educational institution in New York City.
