On Sunday, August 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wise Temple will host a Sunday morning retreat designed for retired men titled B’tzelem Elohim, a phrase meaning “In the image of God” taken from Genesis 1:27 describing God’s creation of mankind.
The retreat will be led by Matt Check, Wise Temple’s Director of Lifelong Learning and Rick Warm. Warm is the Director of the Center for Wisdom and Leadership, and most recently, his work concerns the second half of life. As an executive coach he runs programs for older adults about conscious aging, spirituality, eldership and the path towards wisdom.
Together, Check and Warm will lead participants in discussions concerning shifts in identity after retirement and the evolving roles older men play in their families and communities.
Using a Jewish lens, the group will explore purpose, connection and new ways of seeing themselves and one another.
