The 80th Robert S. Kraft Memorial Service was held on Sunday, May 25th at the Robert S. Kraft War Memorial Garden at the Covedale Cemetery.

Hosted by B’nai B’rith of Cincinnati, this one-hour service was led by Harry S. Sudman, past president of B’nai B’rith. The service honored members of our local Jewish community who gave their lives serving our country.

The Kraft War Memorial, located at Covedale Cemetery, was dedicated on October 14, 1945 with the help of Louis Weiland, who served as chair of this event until he passed in 1982.

The American Legion Post 534 raised the Flag, performed a three-volley salute, and blew Taps. Participants sang the Star-Spangled Banner, Hatikvha and a variation of El Maleh Rachamim.

Speakers included: Ohio Supreme Court Justice Megan E. Shanahan, Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney Connie Pillich, and 1-398 Operations Officer Major Eric Brown.
