Dr. Jacob Stadiem received his bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University and graduated magna cum laude. Born and raised in North Carolina, Stadiem was no stranger to Cincinnati Jewish life. He attended a Jewish camp near Indianapolis, where his mother was a nurse, and made many friends while there. At Ohio State, he reacquainted with many of his camp friends, and his love for Cincinnati grew.
Dr. Stadiem received his dental degree from the College of Dental Medicine at Midwestern University in Illinois, where he graduated summa cum laude with membership. After graduating, he returned to North Carolina to work as an orthodontist.
He felt that the place he was working at did not focus on interpersonal relationships. After ten years of school, he wanted his work to mean something. So he tapped into his Cincinnati Jewish roots, reaching out to Dr. Gary Zola and his wife Stephanie, whom, according to Stadiem’s former partner, Dr. Alan Weber, he considered to be his second parents. Dr. Zola reached out to Dr. Alan Weber the day after Rosh Hashanah of that year and the timing was beshert. Zola told Weber that Stadiem was looking for an opportunity to move to Cincinnati. “I’m that opportunity,’ said Weber.”
Dr. Alan Weber began his dental practice in 1976. He took over the office from his father in law, Dr. Sam Ackerman, one of the best known Jewish orthodontists in Cincinnati. Ackerman had run his practice here in the Queen City since the late 40s.
Dr. Stadiem joined Dr. Weber’s practice, becoming a partner at Northeast Orthodontic specialists. In 2021, Dr. Weber decided it was time to retire, and Dr. Jacob Stadiem bought the practice, which he still operates today. Dr. Stadiem has offices in both Blue Ash and Loveland.
Both Drs. Weber and Stadiem have deep Jewish roots in Cincinnati, and both have worked to sustain those roots and bring meaningful, interpersonal interaction into their practice.
Weber has also served as the President of the Jewish National Fund. He worked for Israel Bonds as a volunteer, and also served as a solicitor for the Jewish Federation for many years.
The commitment both Dr. Weber and Dr. Stadiem have shown to the Jewish community in Cincinnati is robust and longstanding. Dr. Stadiem’s success here in the Queen City is a reminder — that Jewish connections run strong and that here, in this community, there are always opportunities for those who are willing to reach out and ask.
