Israeli gov’t supplies off-road security vehicles to Samaria farmers

(JNS) — Israel’s Settlements and National Missions Ministry, headed by Orit Strook (Religious Zionism Party), on Monday delivered 21 off-road “Ranger” vehicles to Jewish farmers in the Samaria region.

The vehicles were provided in cooperation with the Israel Defense Forces’ Central Command, which includes Judea and Samaria.

“The farms are the most important and significant act of settlement in the areas of Judea and Samaria because they completely change the perception of the land, greatly expand our presence in the area and provide the best and most significant response to the Palestinian Authority-led plot to seize control of the land,” explained Strook.

“The Israeli people and the State of Israel owe a huge debt to the farmers who took upon themselves this mission and carry it out with incredible dedication,” stated Strook.

Israel to import millions more eggs ahead of Passover holiday

(JNS) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security this week announced it was temporarily expanding duty-free egg import quotas to ensure a steady supply during the Passover holiday, which starts on April 12.

As part of the move, which was made jointly with the Israeli Finance Ministry, the import quota for eggs will be increased to 105 million.

The average egg consumption in the Jewish state is around 200 million monthly, roughly matching the domestic production capacity. During Passover, however, the demand spikes to approximately 240 million.

At the Agriculture Ministry’s initiative, an additional four million eggs have already been imported into the country over the past week, with the remaining eggs expected to arrive in the coming three weeks.

The ministry’s initiative includes importing eggs from avian flu-free areas in Europe, as well as industrially produced ones from the United States.

Benjamin Netanyahu gives silver-plated beeper to John Fetterman, who praised Lebanon pager operation

(JTA) — When Sen. John Fetterman said he loved the Israeli operation that sent exploding pagers to members of Hezbollah, he probably never expected that Israel would give him a beeper, too.

But that’s what happened this week, when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Fetterman, an outspokenly pro-Israeli Democratic lawmaker, to his office in Jerusalem.

The beeper handover took place during an exchange of gifts. The Pennsylvania senator gave Netanyahu a framed news article about an effort to memorialize Netanyahu’s brother, the fallen Israeli soldier Yoni Netanyahu, in Philadelphia — where Netanyahu lived as a teenager.

Netanyahu’s gift was smaller — and didn’t explode.

Herzog speaks to Wiz CEO after $32b purchase by Google

(JNS) — Israeli President Isaac Herzog spoke on Friday with Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport to congratulate him on the unprecedented sale of the company to Google in a record-breaking $32 billion deal.

Google parent company Alphabet on Tuesday confirmed its acquisition of the Israeli cloud security firm, making it the tech giant’s largest deal to date.

The move aims to strengthen Google Cloud’s security offerings amid growing competition from AWS and Microsoft.

Founded in 2020, Wiz has rapidly expanded, generating $500 million in annual recurring revenue and serving nearly half of the top 100 U.S. companies. Despite joining Google Cloud, Wiz’s security products will remain available on other platforms, including AWS and Azure.
