The talented women of Congregation Etz Chaim (formerly Ohav Shalom) have been baking hamantaschen for decades. They use a tried-and-true recipe that is 150 years old to craft something beautiful every year. They start baking well in advance of the holiday to share these delicious cookies with the broader community. They don’t just pinch the dough into perfect triangles though — with each pinch they form a connection from the generations that have come before and those that are yet to come. Yes, it may seem like a lot of pressure to put on a single cookie, but these hamantaschen link us together and remind us of Jewish strength and resilience.
Order a dozen today to treat yourself or gift to a friend, colleague or neighbor. Share the story of Purim and experience the Joy of Judaism. See advertisement on page 3 for ordering details.
