The Jewish Committee on Scouting and the Dan Beard Council invite all Scouts to participate in Scout Shabbat, a Friday Night Shabbat service for Jewish Scouts and their family members. Non Jewish scouts and their families who want to learn about Judaism and participate in a Shabbat experience are also welcome to come. The service will be held on Friday, February 7, at the Mayerson JCC, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

Rabbi Eric Slaton, who has served Hamilton’s Beth Israel Congregation since 1999 and is a member of the Jewish Committee on Scouting, will lead the service. All current and former scouts are encouraged to wear their scouting uniforms to the service.

The JCC is also introducing a new childhood series, Sababa Sundays. Families with children from infants to age 3 are invited to dance, read books supplied by PJ Library, play musical instruments and more in this new, interactive program. Mollie Fingerman, an early childhood teacher, will lead the programs. Sababa Sundays will take place every Sunday until March 2, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Mayerson JCC.
