You don’t have to wait for a spring thaw to get back to the pickleball court this year. The Mayerson JCC will be hosting a pickleball event for the 20s & 30s group on Sunday, January 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will be held at Aces Pickleball Bar + Grill in Norwood. The venue features indoor courts, so attendees can stay warm as they swing their paddles and attempt to stay out of the kitchen.

Though pickleball was invented in 1965, it gained widespread popularity during the COVID-19 lockdown. Its popularity continues to grow, especially among young people. The Sports and Fitness Industry Association recored 8.9 million participants in the sport as of 2022. Pickleheads in the 20s & 30s JCC group are invited to attend this event, so grab your paddles and head over to Aces this coming Sunday. Further information about registration and fees can be found on the Mayerson JCC website.

For those who might prefer a more relaxed, less paddle-oriented time with their fellow 20s & 30s group members from the J, the New Riff Distillery tour might hit the spot instead. On Sunday, February 16, the JCC will host a tour and tasting at New Riff Distilling from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. New Riff is a Jewish, family owned business founded in 2014. Members of the JCC 20s & 30s group are invited to a tour of the facility followed by a private tasting. More information can be found on the Mayerson JCC website.
