The Mayerson JCC is offering several programs for children that can engage young minds during the colder winter months. Beginning on January 8th, the JCC will host Music Together, an early childhood music and movement program developed to promote a child’s musical ability though interactive songs. Music Together will take place every Wednesday from January 8 until March 12 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the J. Registration for the series all includes recordings to play outside of the classes, an illustrated songbook, and resources about how to encourage musicality in the home. Registration and fee information can be found on the Mayerson JCC website.

For children ages 7 to 13, the JCC is offering the Tabletop Club. Starting Wednesday, January 15, children can join together for a game that employs role playing strategy and fantasy in the style of the popular Dungeons and Dragons game. The Tabletop Club not only encourages strategy and creative storytelling, but also helps children develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. Additionally, Tabletop Club members will gain team building skills as they work together to face challenges and complete quests in the course of the game. The first night of Tabletop Club begins Wednesday, January 15 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Players will meet each subsequent Wednesday at the same time. More information about the schedule, registration and fees can be found on the JCC website.

Lego enthusiasts ages 4-13 are invited to attend Snapology: Mechanical Masterminds, every Monday, starting January 6, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Those interested in lego building and its use in understanding physics and structural engineering are encouraged to attend. Information about registration fee and session dates is available on the JCC website.

Finally, Pokemon players ages 5 to 13 will be excited to hear that Pokemon Club will take place Wednesday, January 15 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Experienced players can come ready to play, but those who are new to the game are encouraged to attend as well. The club gathering features a space for new players to learn the game and develop their Pokemon skills. Further information can be found on the JCC website.  Dinner is provided for attendees.
