Dear Editor,
As atrocities are committed against Israeli columnists, politicians, pundits, the West, per se., has admonished this tiny Jewish nation to conduct their retaliation according to the rules of war. This reminds me of the ancient tale of the captured Hebrew who was hog-tied and tethered to a pole. The Roman Emperor tells him he will be set free if he wins a fight with a gladiator. As the soldier approaches with drawn sword the Jewish prisoner, straining against his restraints, is miraculously able to bite the leg of the Roman. The Emperor shouts: “Fight fair Jew, fight fair.”
George M. Cohan’s inspiring WW1 song lyrics: “…send the word over there; That the Yanks are coming; So prepare, say a prayer; Send the word…to beware; We’ll be over, we’re coming over; And we won’t come back till it’s over, over there.” The Yanks might not be coming and if they do, they’ll be the ones that must prepare, need to beware and say a prayer.
Spiraling into a new round of blame-the-Jews of all of mankind’s problems, American Jews might consider: 1) Have one firearm available for each physically-able member of the family; 2) Have the mindset that “Never Again” applies to you and you will not capitulate.
