(JNS) — The Israel Defense Forces and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) have identified the suspected shooter in the Aug. 19 killing in the Arab town of Huwara of father and son Shay Silas Nigrekar and Aviad Nir, local media reported on Thursday.

The suspect, according to Arab sources a member of the Bani Fadel family from the village of Aqraba, some five miles east of Huwara, has yet to be captured.

Palestinian media quoted the family as saying that Israeli forces told the suspect’s father he had three days to turn himself in. On Thursday morning, IDF forces reportedly mapped the Bani Fadel home in preparation for its possible demolition.

Earlier this week, Israeli Border Police officers arrested an individual in Beita, near Nablus (Shechem) suspected of assisting the shooter.

Ashdod residents Nigrekar (60) and Aviad Nir (28) were shot at point-blank range at a car wash in the Palestinian village of Huwara, which is adjacent to Nablus.

On Wednesday evening, the IDF announced its intention to demolish the home of one of the terrorists responsible for the murder of four Israelis at the Eli gas station in June, as well as the house of one of the terrorists responsible for the murder of Lucy Dee and her two daughters, 16-year-old Rina and 20-year-old Maia, in early April.

The military said it was still looking into the possibility of demolishing the home of Moaz al-Masri, the second terrorist behind the Dee family murder.

So far in 2023, Palestinian terrorists have killed 34 people (33 Israelis and an Italian tourist) in Israel and committed almost 200 shooting attacks in Judea and Samaria.
